Post by: Maria Phelan on February 4 2011, 11:20 am
IHRA and INPUD seek London-based intern

The International Harm Reduction Association (IHRA) and the International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD) are seeking a part-time intern (2 days per week) for a six-month placement within the IHRA office in London. The internís role is to support the involvement of drug user and harm reduction organisations in international policy and decision-making on HIV/AIDS within the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB). Specifically, this will involve assisting an NGO delegate to the PCB in preparing for, participating in and feeding back on PCB meetings.

The internship provides an ideal opportunity to learn more about international policy-making on HIV/AIDS, the United Nation system and its governance, as well as to support the involvement of people who use drugs in these structures. The intern will also gain valuable insight through the experience of working with international NGOs and networks.

The post will be based at the offices of the IHRAís offices on Westminster Bridge Road, London, and the post will be jointly line managed by the INPUDís Project Manager & IHRAís Senior Analyst: Public Health Policy and Research. A monthly payment of £200 to cover travel and other expenses will be provided, along with additional funds to cover international travel, if applicable.

Please send your CV and a cover letter detailing your interest in the internship and how your skills and experience meet the criteria, to Maria Phelan at . The deadline for applications is February 25th 2011
