Title: Taking Part Workshop: Developing Key Messages
Post by: Silvia Petretti on July 9 2014, 02:38 pm
Our next Taking Part workshop will focus on 'Developing Key Messages' and it will aim to enhance communication skills for HIV advocacy.

It will include the contribution of facilitator Aditi Sharma who has already supported the group with and introductory session around advocacy skills.

Aditi has been a passionate campaigner for social justice since her student days in India. She has run a diversity of campaigns in Asia, Africa and Europe ranging from defending indigenous peoplesí land rights to protesting against the inequities of free-trade agreements.
In 1999, Aditi was inspired to work in solidarity with HIV-positive activists, trade unionists and others in Southern Africa demanding access to HIV treatment. Over the past decade, Aditi's activism has focused primarily on promoting the rights of people living with HIV. She continues to work alongside with people living with HIV and their organisations to support them to gather evidence, develop campaigns and win policy changes in countries across the world.

July Taking Part meeting will be held a week earlier, to accommodate for people traveling to the International AIDS Conference.

Tuesday 15th July from 5:30 to 8

Taking Part is a program that aims to skill up people living with HIV to influence health and social care decision making . It is a series of 12 workshops which will look at developing skills and an agenda for change set by people living with HIV. The project is open to people living with HIV in London who want to get involved, or are already involved, in health and social care policy. It will be peer led but we will also invite in skilled facilitators to develop key skills. (

I hope to see you next week!
