Dear all

We have secured a grant to review best practice in HIV women’s support services and as part of this hold a conference of women living with HIV in December 2014.  We’re looking for a volunteer intern to support this project.  If you know of anyone who would be interested please pass this on.

Positively UK is the leading provider of peer-led support within the HIV sector.  Our front-line support is supplemented by our policy work; and over recent years we have published a series of reports identifying issues such as mental health States of Mind (Communique Award Winner 2014), Impact of Welfare Reform (as part of Counterpoint Policy Alliance) and women’s experience of primary care We Are More Than One Thing (as part of the Women’s Health and Equality Consortium).

With the support of a grant from AbbVie, we are embarking on a new project, working in partnership with a number of agencies across the UK including the Sophia Forum, African Health Policy Network and Sahir House to:

    Identify and presents the key issues affecting women living with HIV
    Showcases best practice developed by community programmes
    Support replication of best practice in other areas

The project will stage a national conference of women living with HIV in December 2014 and culminate in the publication of a best practice report in early 2015.

Hours and Remuneration:
This is a volunteer position with full travel and subsistence reimbursed. 
Commitment is 2-3 days per week for a minimum of 3 months

Training and Support:
The successful candidate will receive a full induction addressing HIV Awareness and working at Positively UK, the opportunity to attend external events and regular supervision.
