Women, Menopause and HIV - a workshop for women over 50 living with HIV

Saturday 30 April 10am - 4pm King’s Cross London – lunch and refreshments provided

An important workshop for women who are experiencing or have experienced menopause.

'There is some evidence that women living with HIV may start the menopause a few years earlier than women without HIV, especially women with a low CD4 count.'

‘Everyone loses bone density as they get older, but this process speeds up in women who have gone through the menopause because they have lower levels of the hormone oestrogen’.

This workshop will look at the impact of HIV and menopause for women, consider the options for treatment, and any changes you can make to improve your physical wellbeing. It will also cover the questions to ask your clinic or doctor to make sure you're getting the most appropriate care and treatment.

Facilitated by a nurse practitioner, this workshop offers a safe space to talk about your individual concerns and get the answers you need to best look after your health.
