Title: Fundraising screening of Yen Tan’s film “1985” – April 12th 2019 in Brighton

A showing of the indepenendent film '1985' is on in Brighton, Friday April 12th, followed by a panel discussion about life with HIV today. (

The film is about the power of love and hurt of AIDS at a dramatic time.  It even has a supervillain in the lead role, Cory Michael Smith, or the Riddler in Gotham.  There is clip of an interview of him talking about his research for the part in the film and the history of AIDS, (

After the screening there will be a discussion with speakers from different sections of the community, talking about living with HIV in the U.K. in 2019 and the extraordinary changes and differences in the era of U=U.

The film is a benefit screening for the Martin Fisher Foundation, which was set up to continue the work of Martin a world renowned doctor who worked in Brighton.
