Title: Campaigner wins tainted blood case

A classical music composer who was infected by HIV through an NHS blood transfusion when he was nine, and later developed hepatitis, won a judicial review that challenged compensation levels.

Although the government last year announced raised compensation for those who contracted HIV, it only offered a review of payments in another five years to those with hepatitis. The Department of Health limited its response to the decision, saying it would "now consider the position".
