New Local TB Partnerships launch TB training for third sector organisations
Posted on: December 18 2012, 09:38 am

FYI:
-------
Dear colleague,

TB Alert is delighted to announce the launch of three new Local TB Partnerships, that have been formed as part of the ongoing The Truth About TB programme: West Midlands Local TB Partnership, Greater Manchester Local TB Partnership and Redbridge Local TB Partnership.

The Local TB Partnerships bring together statutory and third sector service providers to raise awareness of TB in their local community, and to design and deliver TB services that meet the needs of the most affected groups: black and minority ethnic communities, homeless people, substance mis-users, people with immune systems that are weakened through long term illness such as HIV, and people in poor quality housing.

The Local TB Partnerships will continue the third sector capacity building element of The Truth About TB programme, beginning with three new TB training workshops in 2013 for organisations that work in any one of the three Local TB Partnership areas:

West Midlands Local TB Partnership TB training workshop: 05-06 February 2013, The Bordesley Centre, Birmingham, B11 1AR

Greater Manchester Local TB Partnership TB training workshop: 12-13 February 2013, GMCVO, St Thomas Centre, Manchester, M12 6FZ

Redbridge Local TB Partnership TB training workshop: 18-19 February 2013, Redbridge CVS, Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1BA

The training will provide interactive sessions on TB the illness, how it affects local communities, and guidance on developing and evaluating TB awareness programmes which will include guidance on using the free TB awareness resource pack that comes with the training.

If you are based in a Local TB Partnership region, and you are interested in participating in the training, please email thetruthabouttb@tbalert.org to request a booking form, stating which area you work in.

If you have any questions about The Truth About TB programme, please contact the Community Development Officer for your region:
North and Midlands Hanif Bobat, 0161 8480988, 07957 317707, hanif.bobat@tbalert.org;

Best wishes,
