Volunteer Positions at River House

Volunteer Befrienders: ‘Befriending is a process whereby two or more people come together with the aim of establishing and developing an informal and social relationship’ (HO, 2001). Befrienders are in a unique position of trust offering support in a friendly and responsible way, as part of the River House service to our members. We are looking for a pool of Volunteer Befrienders who are able to give up to 2 hours per week for this role.

Volunteer Peer Support Group Co-Facilitator: The Peer Support group is for people living with HIV at River House. The group provides an opportunity to explore ideas; to get support and guidance; to share information and experiences and it is a good place to meet new people. We are looking for a volunteer Peer Support Co-facilitator to co-facilitate the group with our Peer Support Group Facilitator, Ilmar. The peer support group is weekly on Fridays from 2.30pm-4.30pm at River House.

We will be happy to discuss the above roles with Rive House members and/or with people who are not currently members of River House. If either of these roles are of interest to you, please contact Joel Korn on 020 8753 5190 / mail@riverhouseuk.org in the first instance.

Reception/Admin Volunteer:

If the Reception/Admin volunteer role is of interest to you, please contact Kathryn Dombrowicz on 020 8753 5190 / mail@riverhouseuk.org
