NAT is pleased to announce the launch of its new report 'HIV and Injecting Drug Use.'
This is available online here:
http://www.nat.org.uk/media/Files/Policy/2013/HIV_and_Injecting_Drug_Use_Report_2013%5B2%5D.pdf The report provides a detailed account of the emerging trends in injecting behaviour and new health risks. It gives recommendations for how to respond to these newer injecting behaviours, in particular injecting of newer drugs by gay men, as well as continuing health problems amongst people who inject drugs. Of key importance is improving the range and quality of services for people who inject drugs in relation to HIV risk, including the continuing provision of harm reduction programmes such as Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) and Needle and Syringe Programmes (NSPs).
If you would like to explore these issues in more detail or would like to give feedback on the resource please contact
