Roche to halt HIV drug research
Posted on: July 16 2008, 03:40 pm

Roche have announced that they are stopping research into new HIV drugs. Full details: http://www.aidsmap.com/en/news/5C08A0DD-732F-4843-95E7-96C43F1DEA11.asp

The company currently manufactures a number of HIV drugs, including saquinavir (Invirase), and T-20 (Fuzeon), as well as nelfinavir (Viracept), which was subject to a recall last year after problems with its manufacture. Roche will continue to make these drugs, but will stop research into new HIV drugs. The company will continue to make an HIV viral load test called Amplicor.
