Dear UKCAb steering group

Iam not on your group but it will be good if you guys can open up to other long term condition, as some of you who know science now people die of other associated long term conditions ,Nice make recommends to many new drugs and at one tone we may need them.It will be good if. Ukcab chair can create a structured relationship with Nice.
The need 4people to join the appeals committee see  details below.


onsible for hearing appeals against NICE’s recommendations on the use of new drugs and other technologies for treating patients with very rare diseases and very complex health care needs. When an appeal is submitted an Appeal Panel comprising five members is drawn from NICE’s Appeal Committee. 

You will need to be currently employed within the NHS and able to understand the process and methods NICE uses to appraise new health technologies; and to critically assess the arguments put forward by companies, professional groups and patient organisations appealing against our guidance. Appeal Panels are established infrequently and you may only need to sit on a panel two to three times a year and no more than five.

 

Deadline for applications is

5pm on 24 September 2013.  We would welcome applicants from all interested parties.  For further information and to apply for the role please refer to the NICE website:
