Women's voices on health: addressing barriers to accessing primary care
Posted on: May 28 2014, 05:02 pm

Dear all,

The Women and Health Equality Consortium  has published ‘Women’s voices on health: addressing barriers to accessing primary care’. The report includes findings from a survey with 300 women as well as focus groups with BME women, refugee and asylum seeking women, women living with HIV, LGBT women, and women with learning disabilities. It was produced by Maternity Action in collaboration with Positively UK,  Imkaan and Forward.

The report also  includes the finding from a focus group with women living with HIV (facilitated by Pos UK) which highlights how stigma, gender based violence, problems with confidentiality, and poor understanding of HIV from GPs create obstacles accessing  primary care for  women living with HIV.
