Media Training - Taking Part workshop
Posted on: November 18 2014, 09:45 pm

Dear friends,

Next Taking Part workshop will focus on Media Training
Why do the media get everything wrong?
How can we control or influence what the media says?
What would you do if a national newspaper or magazine asked for you an interview?
How would you approach a TV or radio interview?
When should you go for it AND when should you say no?

For the answers to these and any other questions you have about media involvement come along to the next Taking Part session on

Tuesday 25 November.
From 5:30 to 8 pm
Positively UK
City Road
London EC1V 1LR

Your trainer, Jo Josh, has many years of experience as a journalist for both print and broadcast media.  She will give you the inside track on how the media works.  Jo has herself talked about being HIV positive on national TV, radio and in the press, so she knows what a challenge that can be.

Taking Part is a program that aims to skill up people living with HIV to influence health and social care decision making . It is a series of 12 workshops which will look at developing skills and an agenda for change set by people living with HIV. The project is open to people living with HIV in London who want to get involved, or are already involved, in health and social care policy. It will be peer led but we will also invite in skilled facilitators to develop key skills.
