free training sessions for working with women affected by domestic violence
Posted on: February 13 2015, 04:55 pm

This is not directly HIV related , but since there is a strong connection between HIV and Gender Based Violence, I think this training would really benefit people who support women living with HIV, including asylum seeker with no recourse to public funds.

Eaves is delivering more free training sessions for professionals working with women affected by domestic violence, with No Recourse to Public Funds, in the London area, on the following dates:

Tuesday 24 February 2015, 10am 5.30pm in Hackney.
Wednesday 4 March 2015, 10am 5.30pm in Kings Cross.
Tuesday 17 March 2015, 10am 5.30pm in Hackney (for local authorities only i.e. social services or other services within local authority organisations).

Aims of the session:

   Basic understanding of the law around NRPF and the DDV concession, in particular.
   Understanding of groups that are eligible to the concession.
   Practical guide on how to support women who are using the concession.
   Understanding of ways to support other NRPF groups who are affected by domestic violence, but not covered by the DDV Concession.
This training is CPD accredited and free to attend for organisations based in London that work with the affected groups. There are limited spaces which are allocated on a first come, first served basis and there is a limit to the number of people that can apply from the same organisation. If you are unsuccessful in securing a place this time around, your name will be added to a waiting list for upcoming dates.
If you wish to attend any of the above training dates, please e-mail the following address to request a booking form: training@eavesforwomen.org.uk

If you are an organisation based outside of London that is interested in this training, please also e-mail the address above to speak to someone about arranging a training event closer to you.
