Administrative position vacant at The Sophia Forum
Posted on: March 19 2015, 07:02 pm

We are looking for someone to join Sophia Forum immediately on a consultancy basis, in an administrative role to work directly with the trustees to deliver on the different activities of the organisation.

The SOPHIA Forum is the UK chapter of the UN Global Coalition on Women and AIDS (GCWA) – www.womenandaids.unaids.org. UNAIDS launched the GCWA in 2004. The Coalition is a loose alliance of civil society groups, networks of women living with HIV, and United Nations agencies. GCWA works at global and national levels to highlight the effects of HIV and AIDS on women and girls and to stimulate concrete and effective action to prevent the spread of HIV.
Our current work focuses on gender-based violence and HIV and advancing the rights of women living with HIV in all our diversity through promoting the advocacy and leadership of women living with HIV. In all our work, Sophia Forum endeavours to uphold the principle of "GIPA" or “MIWA” – i.e. the meaningful involvement of women living with HIV in all that we do.

Applications from women living with HIV are particularly encouraged, as are applications from migrant women with the legal right to work, and recent graduates. The Administrator will be expected to be familiar with most relevant software programmes, e.g. Word, Excel, QuickBooks, Website management, database development and finance systems. If not fully conversant, there will be the possibility of receiving in-house training and development if the post is renewed.

Please see the role of the Administrator attached and the email contact to send you expression of interest too,
As a trustee of this charity we have an exciting year ahead of us and look forward to having someone on board to help us reach as many women as possible throughout the UK and beyond..
