European HIV-Hepatitis Testing Week
20-27th November 2015 Events

To mark the European HIV-Hepatitis Testing Week 20-27th November 2015, Barts Health NHS Trust and London Borough of Waltham Forest in partnership with Positive East, Lifeline, Terrence Higgins Trust‎ and North East London Foundation Trust will be delivering a series of HIV and Hepatitis awareness activities in Waltham Forest. The European HIV-Hepatitis Testing Week is a week of action to increase awareness of HIV and viral hepatitis testing and reduce the burden of late diagnosis. The testing Week aims to scale up access, availability and uptake of HIV and Hepatitis testing for communities at risk to HIV. 

HIV and Viral Hepatitis Briefing Sessions for Healthcare Professionals
In order to increase HIV and viral hepatitis diagnosis and reduce late HIV and viral Hepatitis diagnosis for patients at Whipps Cross Hospital and surrounding areas in Waltham Forest, there is a need to increase HIV and Hepatitis awareness knowledge for non-sexual health clinicians.  Below are a series of the HIV and Hepatitis awareness for GPs, Practice Nurses, healthcare staff working in hospitals, third sector staff and other health professionals working with communities at risk of viral Hepatitis C and HIV.

The three HIV and Hepatitis Briefing Sessions will be delivered on:
18th November 2015 (for FY1 & undergraduates only)
20th November 2015
26th November 2015

Time: 1pm to 2pm.
Venue: Whipps Cross University Hospital, MEC, Main Lecture Theatre.

How to book for the sessions
To attend any of the sessions please send email to elias.phiri@bartshealth.nhs.uk stating your name, job title and the session that you would like to attend. Please note that all the sessions are free of charge to attend. We will provide certificate of attendance and complimentary refreshments for delegates attending the sessions. Please book early to avoid disappointments as places are limited.

Health Bus at Walthamstow town centre
We will be offering free and confidential health screening in Walthamstow town centre. People living or working in the area are invited to drop-in at Health bus that will be located at the town centre and take advantage of the free service from 10am to 6pm on Saturday, 21 November and Wednesday, 25 November 2015.
