MP vote on ESA cuts tomorrow
Posted on: February 22 2016, 04:27 pm

Tomorrow (Tuesday 23 Feb) the House of Commons will be considering vital amendments to the Welfare Reform Bill which have come from the House of Lords.

Clauses 13 and 14 of the Welfare Reform Bill would cut rates of Employment and Support Allowance by 30 a week for new claimants in the Work-Related Activity Group. Lords Amendments 8 and 9 would remove these clauses.

NAT has briefed MPs with an interest in HIV urging them to support these Lords amendments.

There are also a number of e-campaigns coordinated by colleagues in other charities, where you can write to your MP asking them to support these amendments, including this one on the 38 degrees platform: https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/campaigns/577?platform=hootsuite

You have until TOMORROW

Sorry, clicked post too soon!

You have until TOMORROW to write to your MP.  NAT would like to encourage anyone with concerns about welfare cuts to do so.  Please see our briefing for MPs for more details on the impact of the cuts on people living with HIV: http://www.nat.org.uk/media/Files/Policy/2016/LordsAmendments.pdf
