Free Computer Skills Course for Over 50s living with HIV in London
Posted on: March 31 2016, 09:24 am

Do you struggle with using a computer or perhaps you just feel you lack confidence? Or maybe you know of someone who would benefit from some support in getting online?

The Health Wealth and Happiness Project in London is offering a 6 week Basic Computer Skills Training course for people living with HIV aged 50 and over.  We’ve hired an IT suite near Southwark tube station and a great facilitator who will guide people through the basics of computer use to increase confidence and teach new skills.  Each week we cover a new subject including

  • Computer security – how to keep safe and secure on your computer
  • Internet access - what does it mean and how do you make it work for you
  • Email accounts – how to set one up and how to use them effectively
  • Word processing - tips and tricks for producing letters and documents
  • Copying and using photos on your computer
  • Social media – how to use it effectively to work for you
  • How to use Skype to keep in touch with family and friends

One of our previous participants said the IT course had ‘changed her life’.

Refreshments will be provided.  Venue is only 3 minutes walk from Southwark tube station.

Training runs from 6 April until 11 May.

Places are limited so book in advance by contacting Adrian Beaumont, Health Wealth and Happiness London Coordinator
