Invitation to attend health, work and disability engagement forum

The DWP have asked Disability Benefits Consortium (of which NAT is a member) to hold an engagement event on new Government proposals for supporting people with disabilities and long-term conditions into employment.

They will be seeking feedback from people with a wide range of disabilities and long-term conditions on the proposals in the Green Paper on health, work and disability.

NAT would like to encourage anyone living with HIV who would like to share their experiences about getting into (or back to) work with HIV, any barriers they have faced and how the Government should support people in future.

The event will take place on Friday 3 February from 14.00-17.00 in central London.  DBC will send out a detailed briefing for all attendees including practical details about the event closer to the date. Spaces are filling up fast so if you are interested in attending please email sarah.radcliffe@nat.org.uk by this Friday, ideally!

PLEASE NOTE:
-      This is not an NAT or HIV-specific event
- This will be an open event and participants will include DWP officials, charity representatives from outside the HIV sector, and other disabled people and people with long-term conditions.  The forum will include break-out table discussions with other participants.
-      Event places are for named attendees and are strictly limited we should be able to get 2 places for people who get in touch this week, and after this point people may have to go on a waiting list.
-      NAT understands the organisers may be providing some travel expenses but we are still waiting for more information on this.
