For Info: UK e-Health WeekAt this year’s UK e-Health Week we are looking at three areas of health and care IT to help you understand your role in the digital transformation of the NHS and take action:
First, we’ll be scrutinising the delivery of the digital agenda that will bring about the changes we need to properly benefit from a paper free NHS. With keynotes from Matthew Swindells, CCIO Keith McNeil, CIO Will Smart, Juliet Bauer and Beverley Bryant; we’ll hear first-hand the latest national ambitions and plans. In our theatres we have expert-led workshops on interoperability, nursing informatics, children’s digital health, improving patient experience of digitalisation and data-driven service improvement.
Secondly, we’ll focus on how we train and equip people to handle data, informatics and IT in health and care. Harpreet Sood, the associate CCIO at NHS England, will outline the latest developments in the NHS Digital Academy in his keynote. There will also be workshops from the NHS Leadership Academy and Health Education England and a main stage panel led by Mike Chitty, Head of Applied Leadership, NHS Leadership Academy.
Thirdly, everyone’s interested in the Global Digital Exemplar acute and mental health trusts that have been chosen to lead the way to digital maturity. As a global healthcare thought-leader, HIMSS is a true supporter of international benchmarking, as evidenced by EMRAM our own benchmarking tool which is one of the metrics of GDE and fast-follower performance. We’re devoting the centre of the exhibition hall to the GDEs, giving them the chance to explain their progress and strategies and giving you and your teams the chance to meet them all. NHS England is holding a GDE workshop - all are welcome, and GDE leaders from Chief Execs to CIOs will be presenting on the main stage.
