WHAT IS AN INTEGRATED CARE PROVIDER?

What you need to know:

The government likes to bury its plans to privatise the NHS in jargon and alphabet soup . . .

STP – ACO – ICO – ICP ? What does it all mean?

Keep Our NHS Public can help, they say:

The government plans to restructure the NHS.  But why?

It refuses to fund the NHS as a fully public service . . . and it plans to let more private firms in the back door. Putting profit before patients.

First it proposed something called . . .
Sustainability and Transformation Plans.
•   STPs will deliver over £22 BILLION cuts in annual NHS budget . . . and merge, close and cut NHS services up and down the land.

Then they planned something called . . .
Accountable Care Organisations.
•   ACO contracts allow private firms to manage “STP” areas.

NHS campaigners exposed this toxic policy . . .

So the government rebranded ACOs, calling them . . .
Integrated Care Systems.
•   Integrated Care Systems are to be delivered by . . . Integrated Care Providers.

Confused? that’s the point!

ICPs are the same thing as ACOs !!!

The new ICP Contracts will . . .
•   “Integrate” the private sector into the NHS
•   Put profit before patient safety
•   Provide financial control over quality healthcare

Meaning. . . more NHS funding into private profit and tax havens.
