Funding and Grants

As part of the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme the Department for Children, Schools and Families committed 5 million between 2008 and 2011 to support the development of the involvement of parent carers in the planning and strategic development of services for disabled children. Funding is available through grants and support to develop parent participation activities in each local authority area across England.

Phase 1 of the programme ran up to March 2009, and Phase 2 from April 2009 to March 2010.

All recipients of a Phase 2 grant must submit a Phase 2 Monitoring Form by 26 March 2010 (see below for the form). There is also a guidance document on how to keep accounts.

A Phase 3 grant of 10,000 can now be applied for. One grant will be available in each local authority area. The Phase 3 application form, along with a new set of criteris and guidance can be downloaded from this page.

The closing date for Phase 3 applications is the 30th April 2010.

If you have any questions about the Phase 2 grant monitoring or Phase 3 application processes, contact your current local Parent Participation Adviser.

Note that Phase 2 Monitoring Forms must be submitted and signed off before Phase 3 Applications can be approved.
