Programme Introduction
This 3-day module is open to all interested health professionals who are looking for a rapid update on HIV and HIV control. The content provides a refresher course in the core principles of HIV epidemiology and control as well as updates on clinical syndromes and their management, the use of antiretrovirals and programming for HIV prevention and treatment.   The module is part of the 3 month Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (DTM&H) so the orientation is towards practice in developing countries.  However the delivery is updated every 6 months in line with new developments in approaches, strategies, tests, and treatments for HIV.   

Who Should Attend
This course will be useful for medical practitioners, prescribing nurse practitioners and clinical officers in a wide range of medical disciplines including primary care, public health, medical microbiology, radiology, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and HIV medicine.

Pre-requisites
A good grounding in medicine and an excellent grasp of English are required.

A Complete Learning Package
The delivery includes a range of formal lectures, interactive teaching sessions and group work for clinical and public health problem-solving.
